A Note About Memorial Day, About our Troops

Good morning everyone, I pray that you all are blessed!

It is nice to have a day dedicated to the troops of the wars past that our country had to survive through in order to become the nation it is today. A place of freedom for 'supposedly' all people. (This is beginning to diminish a bit with the rights of others being hindered by those who feel that it is their right to silence opposing views.)

But we don't need to celebrate our troops on Memorial day... we need to give thanks and celebrate them everyday of every year. Not just one day of the year.

The thousands of young and older men and women that have died for our freedoms need to be remembered each time you speak your mind. Each time you get up in the morning and can choose whether to go to work or be with you family. Everytime that you use your freedom to worship who and where you want.

These freedoms we all take for granted, although are free to us, they all came at a cost. The price was the blood spilt and the lives lost in thw wars we've had:
Revolutionary War
War of 1812
The Mexican-American War
Civil War
The Spanish-American War
World War I
World War II
Korean War
Vietname War
Desert Storm
Operation: Enduring Freedom
Iraqi Freedom

The wars that we've fought to keep our freedoms or to liberate us to allow our freedoms to be followed were not fought on the same day, yesterday, but were fought each day spanning multiple years.

So, the next time that it comes to mind to salute our flag, the American flag, or when you see our troops, tell them thank you, shake their hand, invite them to dinner if they have no where else to go, do what you can to take care of them if they are in need of a home, food, water or other needs and always keep them in your hearts and thank God for them. Even if you disagree with the current war being fought, or if you disagree with the President or take the side of not liking war at all, our soldiers deserve no less. They are putting their lives at risk for your freedom. Give them thanks and be thankful for them.

If it wasn't for the men and women who have fought our wars, we wouldn't have a country with freedoms that we can express and enjoy.

"God bless our troops, God bless the military, God bless America!"

God bless us all,
Johnathan

Hi. If you email me I can connect you with the photographer. My mother-in-law took it.

Hello Karen,

I just wanted to say thank you for visiting and inquiring.

God bless your son for his service and sacrifice and God bless you and your family for your sacrifice.

I wish that I could take responsibility for this awesome painting, however; that would not be right of me nor would it do any honours for who it represents.

It took me a while to find the artist and his site but I did find it.

The artist is Lee Teter. His website is:
http://www.leeteter.com/

You can find out more about the painting here:
http://www.leeteter.com/DetailsArt.aspx?id=77

The Copyright is owned by Vietnam Veterans of America:

More information about Lee Teter:

You can purchase his painting and get it autographed as well from his site at www.leeteter.com or from here:

Again, than you for your sacrifice to keep us free.

If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know.

God bless,
Johnathan

Here is a nice way to say Thanks to the Troops. The Grateful Chics will donate a Patriotic Grateful Bead Strand to a soldier every time one is purchased. This charitable partnership is through Operation Gratitude, a non-profit that send care packages to our Troops. The soldiers will know someone cares, remembers and is grateful for their service with these tokens of Gratitude. Check them out here: http://shop.gratefulchics.com/Patriotic-Star-6-length-STAR09P.htm
